For my directed photography assignment, I created an image of a bowl of alphabet soup with quotes from a song written with the letters. The quotes I chose to use are from a song written by The 1975 called "Me". The bowl of alphabet soup juxtaposes the song.
The soup creates a feeling of child like innocence and the song creates a feeling of heartbreak and regret. The message is that innocence is easily lost, its good to live in the moment. I spent an hour looking through the soup to fine the right letters, the spoon wouldn't stay on the bowl the way i wanted it to, and the soup was originally very chunky and unappetizing.
Overall i believe this was an interesting piece. I like my idea for it and the execution of these pictures. It may appear simple but a lot of though and work went into creating these pictures.
